Spring 2011 Couture Week is all wrapped up, and by now I’m sure all of you have picked your favorite pieces and are already predicting which ones are most likely going to be worn on the red carpet and by whom. My favorite collections this year were from Elie Saab (this is the part where you faint in disbelief :p) and Christian Dior. I loved Elie Saab for the romantic silhouettes and soft color palette (especially the nudes) that looked even more divine when combined with lace and sheer fabrics, floral appliqués, and sequins. And I liked Christian Dior for the exact opposite reason — for its opulence! The voluminous/flared 50s skirts, the dramatic use of tulle, the bold makeup, it was all incredibly glamorous!
Here’s a peek at some of my favorites overall:
A red carpet event for all of us; how exciting would that be! 😀 You know where I’m going with this, don’t you? If we did have one, what would you wear? You don’t have to necessarily pick from the ones above, but it has to be something from Spring 2011 couture collections. I think I would pick either the black Elie Saab (#3) or Zuhair Murad (#10). Of course with the Zuhair Murad dress, I’m assuming that in a world where I’m getting to attend red carpet events, I also don’t have an inch of fat on my body and have Malaika Arora-esque legs! God, how much I love this alternate life of mine! 😀
Anyway, I’m dying to know your pick, so please, please, please do write in and be a sport!
