First things first: We love how beautifully this frothy pink Giambattista Valli gown blends into the theme of this blog! If we had to pick a look to represent all things Splurgerina this would have to be it—it just fits perfectly, doesn’t it? Great! Now that that’s been said, let’s talk awards season. In case you couldn’t tell already, we are obsessed with red carpet fashion around here (follow us on Instagram to check out some of our favorite award season looks so far), and this year’s spring couture collections boast of [Read more…]

Well, well, well, exciting times ahead! As you all know, Spring 2015 Couture Week just wrapped up a little over a week ago, and with Oscars right around the corner, I’m eagerly waiting to see some of the dresses from this year’s show on the red carpet. Overall, my favorite collections were from Jean Paul Gaultier and Armani, but you can scroll down to see [Read more…]

I can’t believe that I’ve become one of those people who get caught up in the drama that is comparing these two celebrities, but I just couldn’t help and cave in this time! The similarities are just too obvious— an all black look, a dress with a slit oh so scandalous, and hair that is slightly wavy and parted to the side. So, who do you think wins this face-off, or should I say (apologizes for being corny in advance) leg-off? (Again, really sorry.)
Personally, I prefer Jennifer Aniston’s Valentino Couture dress (she and her leg were previously featured in this blog post) over Angelina’s Versace. The silhouette is sleeker and she doesn’t seem to be risking a cramp to ensure that her leg gets noticed. I also prefer Jennifer’s strappy sandals over Jolie’s peep-toe pumps, and the fact that she bothered accessorizing with a bracelet. But where Angelina takes the lead is hair and makeup. I love the volume in Angelina’s hair and that it’s away from her face as opposed to Aniston’s, and her red pout and smoky eyes just take the look to a whole new level.
So, yeah, as usual I don’t have one straight answer to this question. I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to pick a side. Clearly, law wouldn’t have been an ideal career choice for me! On an aside, this is also the kind of question that would qualify as Brad Pitt’s worst nightmare. Yikes!
