Just the other day, The Splurgerina reminded me of this interesting trivia, after she watched some Jessica Simpson show. In Uganda, I’ll quote from VH1’s Episode Summary “The Hima tribe values their women as they value their cattle, “the fatter, the better.” That’s right. In fact, a bride-to-be spends about 2 months in a “fattening hut” where she is supposed to have milk and “ghee” to become all plump and beautiful for the wedding. really?? Uganda also has ‘ghee’?? 😛
Avi: Tell you what, I saw the VH1 site mention ‘ghee’ in the summary of the episode. I really didn’t have the heart to not include it in the blog post. Trivia: Did you know that ‘Dalda’ originated from Netherlands? The word has now become synonymous with ‘Vanaspati’ in India.
