Emma Stone: To be perfectly honest, I am getting extremely bored of seeing the same monotonous Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad type of dresses on the red carpet every year, but there was something about Emma Stone’s look, however, that was a breath of fresh air. Perhaps it was the fact that it was an unconventional color to wear on the red carpet, or maybe because of how well it sat on her gleaming complexion and auburn hair, but she was definitely one to watch. Her wavy, sideswept hairdo (catch a tutorial here!) was top-notch, and her soft makeup with fresh, peachy tones worked like magic against her chartreuse Elie Saab beaded gown.

Rosamund Pike: And that’s how you do red on the red carpet! I wasn’t particularly blown away by the gown itself, but she brought it to life! The floral-embroidered Givenchy couture lace gown flattered Rosamund’s svelte figure and hugged her in all the right places. I mean look at that tiny waist! The matching red sandals and simple Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings let the dress shine for itself, while natural makeup with just a hint of cream bronzer on her cheekbones highlighted her radiant skin. Dakota Johnson put up a great fight in her own red dress of the night, but Rosamund’s classic take on hair and makeup stole the show for me.
