I wanted to do this post yesterday, but I woke up with a random eye swelling and decided to give my eyes some rest. Yeah, it was as random as going to bed with perfectly healthy eyes and then waking up with a swelling. How weird is that?!?! I guess it’s some kind of seasonal allergy, but it still hurts though.

Anyways, without further ado, here are my favorite looks from the Oscars this year:

Cameron Diaz

She was looking glamorous as ever in her shimmering Oscar de la Renta gown. I loved how she added that wee bit of drama to her look with some red lipstick and nail paint. Also, I’m glad she didn’t do an updo. The soft waves in her hair looked fantastic!

Sandra Bullock

Like Cameron, Sandra also went the shimmery way, choosing a structured, silver beaded gown with a laced bodice by Marchesa. Again, I loved the dramatic lips, but I’m not a fan of that extra sleek, polished hair. Wish she had done something different with it.

Jennifer Lopez

Didn’t Jennifer look gorgeous in her ice pink Armani Privé gown with a super-duper dramatic side train? I’m in two minds about the dress as an individual piece since it looks beautiful from certain angles and really awkward from others, but JLo carried it off with such ease and elegance. I loved this look from head to toe.

Penelope Cruz

She looked absolutely divine in her pleated satin Donna Karan gown. The maroon looked smashing and really complimented her complexion. I loved how she kept the rest of her look simple, with soft hair and makeup and minimalistic diamond jewelry. What a stunner, she is!

Anna Kendrick and Demi Moore

Clearly, I couldn’t decide between these two. Although, both dresses were in a nude/neutral shade, Anna’s was an off shoulder Elie Saab gown with a very romantic drape.

Demi Moore, on the other hand, wore a strapless Atelier Versace gown with lots of ruffles.

I quite liked the slit on Anna’s dress and also thought her hair and makeup looked better than Demi’s. But then again, it’s not really fair to compare a 24 year old with someone in their forties.

So that’s that! Again, these aren’t in order of preference or anything. I tried to do that but started feeling like a major spaz, flipping through one photo to another. I’m a Gemini and decision making isn’t one of our strongest traits!

Nevertheless, would love comments from all of you with your red carpet favorites. Oh, and snarky comments about your least favorite ones are welcome as well. ;)

Keep it real,

SK

P.S. – Except for Avatar, I haven’t seen any of the movies that were nominated this year. Yeah, it’s official. I’m living under a rock!
