I’ll admit, as much as I love color, I consciously buy shoes in neutral colors, simply because I’m a girl on a budget, and I can get more wear out of them. But every once in a while, I come across a shoe that I can’t seem to keep my mind off of, in which case I’m willing to make an exception. My only two rules are that a) they are affordable, and b) they go with plenty of clothes in my closet.
The Christian Louboutin hot grey sandals featured above are from the Spring 2013 collection and have been spotted on various celebrities like Olivia Palermo, Michelle Jenner, and Blanca Suarez. I like that the colors, both rose and teal, are bright and summer-appropriate, and the ruched knotted detail is super cute and girly. Being Louboutins, however, they come with heavy price tag of $1,045, which is way out of my budget. I recently found these bow sandals from Mango (featured below), and I couldn’t be happier with my find. They are suede, ankle-strap sandals with a knotted front just like the hot grey sandals, except that these have a bow instead of the ruched detail. They also feature a visible platform, which I much prefer over the hot grey sandals’ hidden one.

If you, like me, love the design of these Christian Louboutin hot grey sandals but can’t afford them, then at just $79.99, Mango’s bow sandals are a superb alternative. They are versatile enough to be paired with everything from skirts and dresses to skinny jeans and trousers, and I can’t wait to pick up the fuchsia ones!
