This song has been stuck in my head ever since I started working on this post, so I just had to use it as the title. I mean that’s like the rule of Beyonce. You think of a Beyonce song. You sing the Beyonce song. You blog the Beyonce song. You let the Beyonce song take over your WHOLE life. Get it?! Good, now that we’ve got that out of the way, we can talk about some bright, colorful, and happy things like these jelly/PVC flats.
They have been around for a while, but I never really took a liking towards them. They just seemed too childish (and this is coming from someone whose wardrobe is 90% pink, hearts, etc.), especially the ones that were basket-woven or clear. I thought these Vivienne Westwood for Melissa ones were quite unique, but I still wasn’t enamored by the concept of jelly shoes to actually own them. Then came Kate Spade, who just has a way of making you fall in love with everything that she makes. She is truly magical, and I love the bow details and amazing colors that she has used in her collection of jelly sandals. Thanks to her, these shoes are definitely at the top of my summer wish list, and now I’ve even been looking for more options that are just as cute and girly without looking too kiddish.
Below are a few that I absolutely love. The sandals are obviously the more versatile option, going with everything from shorts and rompers to jeans and maxi dresses, but the ballet flats will look darling with short dresses and skirts.
