To be very honest, I was sort of disappointed with the red carpet looks this year (hence the delay in making this post). I mean, yes there were some nice dresses out there, but none of them had a jaw-dropping effect on me. After the awards, I had to sit and think about my favorite looks, and if I need to think about it, it just means that the looks didn’t really make much of an impact. Nevertheless, here are a few that deserved attention –

Clockwise: Cate Blanchett in Givenchy, Halle Berry in Marchesa, Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang, Mila Kunis in Elie Saab
Cate Blanchett – I can’t think of very many people who can do justice to the Givenchy Spring 2011 couture collection, but she made it look so effortless. The color, silhouette, and fit of the dress are so age appropriate and she looked so classy.
Mila Kunis – She really should be crowned the queen of the red carpet this year. There was not a single red carpet appearance of hers that I wasn’t in love with, and the Oscars were no exception. She looked angelic in her chiffon Elie Saab dress with lace details.
Halle Berry – She looked “smokin'” hot in her nude, jewel-encrusted Marchesa gown, and the tulle in her dress actually looked like smoke!! Hahaha! No? :S Sorry, I might just be delusional! :/ Jokes apart, she does look stunning, but after her previous, flawless, goddess-like appearance, I do wish she was wearing a brighter color instead of nude.
Sandra Bullock– There were lots of reds on the red carpet, but nothing really struck a chord quite like Sandra Bullock did. Her Vera Wang dress in a vibrant red, topped with a red lips, created just the kind of drama that was needed on the red carpet. And, although, Anne Hathaway’s look was quite similar, I wasn’t quite fond of the rosettes in her dress. I also felt that the straight, strapless neckline of Anne Hathaway’s dress didn’t flatter her too much; Sandra’s scooped version fit her so much better!
And while we are on the topic of Anne Hathaway, which one of her 8 outfits did you like the most? I know it wasn’t a very popular choice, but for me it has to be the Tom Ford lace/gem-encrusted dress that she wore in the finale. I usually hate dresses with sleeves, and she is completely covered here, but the dress is so unusual and unique, nothing like we have ever seen on Anne Hathaway before. I thought she looked very glamorous!
So, that’s that! In other news, I’m probably having my very own version of the “Oscar’s Curse”— the curse of the arbitrary illness. I wasn’t feeling well around this time last year, and I’m not feeling well again this year. Now, after doing this post, all I really want to do is wear a pretty, red carpet-worthy dress; that’s the only thing that’s going to make me feel better! Seriously people, I’m this close to pulling out my prom dress!
Over and out!

For me, it has to be between Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock. Halle Berry looks like a goddess in the nude shade.
I loved halle berry and mila kunis a lot! And the comeos by Anne hathaway and James Franco was the most amazing, it was so hilarious it could not have been good without them…
anyway, you asked me if I am from Delhi,.. yes dear I am from Delhi. are you on facebook?
