A couple of weeks ago, the wonderful people over at Nokia invited me to participate in an exciting, one-of-a-kind fashion quest. They teamed up with London-based jewelry designer Leila Kashanipour from LeiVanKash (LVK) and wanted us fashion bloggers to use the very stylish Nokia Lumia 900 to take pictures and create a mood board to inspire her next jewelry creation. Leila will select five of her favorite mood boards, and the winners will receive a specially crafted jewelry chest with an LVK engraved Nokia Lumia 920 and LVK jewelry. Also, the main winner of the competition will get a chance to go to London and work with Leila to bring to life their vision. Of course, I jumped at the offer! As if getting my hands on the Nokia Lumia (I wanted one ever since I saw the commercials with Priyanka Chopra) and the possibility of going to London wasn’t reason enough, I also found the competition in itself to be super fun and a great way to get my creative juices flowing.
All of Leila’s collections are absolutely breathtaking, but my favorites have to be Flora, Skullmania, and Totem. Picking between these three was hard, but in the end I chose Flora for my mood board, because I felt it went well with the dark romantic theme that I wanted to go for. Take a look at the final piece below.
My personal style is very feminine, but since winter brings with it a certain mysticism and decadence, I wanted the pictures to depict sensuality rather than prettiness. I used provocative and deep shades, earthy textures, and opulent fabrics as my inspiration, and I think the end result is quite enchanting.
Here are the individual photos clicked with the Nokia Lumia 900 (some edited using Photoshop) for #NokiaLVK mood board. Needless to say, the camera takes stunning macro shots. You like?
To Nokia and LeiVanKash, thank you so much for this great opportunity. And to everyone else, please pray that I win! I have never been to London, and I can’t think of a better reason than this to go. Can’t wait till they pick the winners! It’s just too exciting!
