I’ve been running terribly behind (check out my Fall 2011 Couture week favorites here), but I finally got a chance to look at all the collections from MBFW Swim 2012 held in Miami. Although most of the pieces only made for a great show on the runway and don’t really translate well into real life, there were a few beachwear ideas that I walked away with. Here are a few key trends that I thought were fun and worth implementing the next time you hit a pool or a beach:

In Numerical Order: Luli Fama, Luli Fama, Caffé Swimwear, Diesel, L*SPACE By Monica Wise, LUXE By Lisa Vogel, White Sands Australia, Aqua Di Lara, Jogo Beach, Mara Hoffman Swim, Shivan & Narresh, Dolores Cortés
My focus has shifted from bathing suits to cover ups lately, so my favorites definitely have to be the sheer cover ups layered over colorful swimsuits, as well as light and airy cover ups that are split from the front for maximum flow and movement. I’m also really looking forward to getting myself a sarong. I can’t remember the last time I wore one, but one look at the LUXE by Lisa Vogel one featured above, and I knew I NEED to own one!
I also want to take a little bit of orange with me to the beach, whether it’s through a swimsuit or accessories or even orange lips! It’s such a vibrant color, and it would look lovely surrounded by sunshine and water. And last but not the least, OF COURSE I love the fruit prints! If you didn’t already know my weakness for cutesy prints, you’re either new here, or you haven’t been paying attention, in which case, tsk tsk. 😉
So, which one of these swimwear trends are you most likely to try?
Stay Stylish!
