Ladies, the much-awaited summer is finally here and I’ve even started using my air conditioner to officially seal the deal. I’m so happy that I don’t have to hide under layers and layers of clothing for the next few months. Seriously, I’m going nowhere near my jeans this summer; my legs can use all the sun they can get!
That being said, every year I have a new summer obsession. Last year, it was the maxi dress and this year it has to be the romper. And it’s obviously not just me! I’m seeing a lot of romper-wearers on the streets, celebrities are constantly being photographed in them and clothing stores are loaded with some of the cutest styles. Check out my fab romper finds, covering some of this season’s hottest trends.

In Numerical Order: Urban Outfitters Samantha Pleet Mythic Romper, Urban Outfitters Lucca Couture Colorblock Ruffle Jumper, Heritage 1981 Tribal Shapes Woven Romper, Calvin Klein Jeans Romper, Topshop Stripe Bandeau Playsuit, Topshop Ditsy Floral Playsuit, Guess Noelle Double Zip Romper, BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring Twill Strapless Romper
I love how versatile and non-fussy rompers are. They can easily be taken from day to night, with the right kind of shoes and accessories. Printed rompers go well with a light cardigan or a denim jacket and if you want to chic your look up for the evening, pair it up with a boyfriend blazer. Coming to shoes, I can’t think of any style that doesn’t go with a romper. Flats, gladiator sandals and wedges are all great for the day look, whereas pumps, platforms or caged sandals are perfect for an evening out. Some styles also go with tights and boots/ankle boots. When accessorizing a romper, less is more, so go with one statement piece like a necklace, ring or a cuff (here are some!) with understated rompers, like the nude one above. With the heavily printed kinds, just stick to a contrasting skinny belt, some sunglasses or a headband.
And for all of you who have romper phobia, just relax, it’s just a piece of clothing! Have a drink or two, calm your nerves and give it a shot. With so many different lengths and silhouettes out there to play with, it’s only a matter of time until you find something that flatters you.
Stay stylish!:)
