HITS
My top favorites from the Met Gala this year have to be Liv Tyler, Gisele Bundchen, and Diane Kruger.
Liv Tyler looked incredible in her feathered Givenchy Couture gown and I loved that her hair and makeup were quite simple. I always feel that Givenchy is a little hard to pull off, so kudos to Liv for making it look so effortless.
Gisele Bundchen was one of the few people who wore McQueen last night, and as expected from a McQueen piece (and also just by virtue of being Gisele), she sure did stand out. Just like Liv, she kept hair and makeup minimal and let the dress do all the talking. Perfect ten!
Diane Kruger, without a doubt, also managed to outshine the rest in her Jason Wu dress with a super high slit. As if the dress wasn’t enough, she looked even more glamorous with red lips and wavy hairstyle.
Apart from the three above, I also liked Dianna Agron, Zoe Saldana, and Doutzen Kroes.
Dianna Agron in Michael Kors reminded me a lot of Jennifer Lawrence from Oscars, and although many liked that look of Jennifer’s, I thought it was a little too simple for Oscars. Dianna’s look worked, however, probably because the neckline was more dramatic than Jennifer’s Calvin Klein dress, and her hair and makeup just made her look more polished.
Zoe Saldana, in Calvin Klein, just had me at the color. A very minimalist appearance, but the color made her look so radiant!
Last but not the least, Doutzen Kroes, who looked very beautiful in her red Giambattista Valli gown, a slightly messy bun, and natural makeup. It’s hard to imagine how adorable her baby must be considering she herself is cute as a button! Love her pose too; itβs so “tadaaaaa…here I am!” π
MISSES
Individually, I can’t find a single thing wrong with Chanel Imanβs look — loved her Dolce & Gabbana lace dress, spiked Christian Louboutin pumps and red lips — but as a whole she looks way too skinny. Maybe a shorter length would have been more flattering?
Rihannaβs Stella McCartney lace dress worked in my opinion (her attitude is enough to make most of the craziness that she wears look good!) but her hair and makeup could have been softer.
I was also disappointed with JLo in Gucci, particularly because I always expect jaw-dropping, diva-esque looks from her (her Zuhair Murad dress from last year was perfect!). I’m not too fond of that silhouette on her, and also that floral detail around the shoulders is really distracting!
And of course the ladies in Chanelβ Blake Lively and Freida Pinto. I quite liked Blake‘s sari/Grecian inspired dress, but I felt that she looked a little washed out. What do you think? As for Freida, lovely hair and makeup but really, what was going on with that dress? :S
Who were your favorites from the Met Gala this year?

Tough to choose from cuz they all look good and the dresses are amazing:) But still i would go for Doutzen.. Simple but stunning π
I would too go with Doutzen, specially ‘coz its was the Met Gala and one expects some classy dramatic π

I liked the olsen girls and Eva Mendes too! I think Freida could have pulled off the look if she had skipped the tie but then it would have looked too bridal.
