Wedges don’t get much of a fan following, and personally I hate majority of the ones that come my way, as well. Last summer, I possibly exhausted every store (online and offline!) to find a perfect wedge sandal and I managed to find only one that I really liked. Why did I want one so badly? Well, if you own a wedge sandal you’ll probably know the answer to this one! These are some of the best shoes you can invest in; they are super versatile and you don’t have to sacrifice on style or the most important thing ever – comfort!
Which is why I’ve been super excited about seeing wedge heel make an appearance on ankle booties everywhere! Yes, I’m aware that it’s showing up on regular boots too, but I haven’t seen anything that’s got me raving yet. Talk about ankle booties though, and we are singing a different tune. NYC is all about walking, and although I LOVE all my stiletto heel booties, they are just not very practical for everyday wear. I find myself mostly reaching out for flat boots during winters, which isn’t the most desired choice when you’re only 5’2! I’m so glad those days are behind me, and now I can finally be comfortable, without having to sacrifice on those few inches that just about put me in the “average height” category. 😛
I picture these shoes being worn with everything from skinny jeans and sweater dresses, to short, full/pleated skirts. I also love how Rachel Bilson styled them here, with boyfriend jeans and a blazer. Very stylish, right? And the best part is that they would look equally as stylish during the summer with shorts and printed dresses! Check out a few that caught my eye. I particularly like the lace-up kinds.

So, do you own a pair of wedge booties yet? Would love to hear your take on this style, darlings!
