Cool Indian Shopping Portals: Indiebazaar.com

Last week I told you how excited I was about Steve Madden India’s foray into online shopping. Well, here’s another online store based in India that I have been visiting regularly since the day I discovered it— Indiebazaar.com! India has seen the emergence of plenty of reliable e-commerce sites in the last few years, but what gives Indiebazaar a soft corner in my heart is the fact that it gives us access to a lot of talented independent artists and designers in the country. I like to call it the Etsy of India, where new artists can set up their shop for free and retail their products online, and where shopaholics like you and I can easily discover unique products that are not mass produced.

Indiebazaar offers free shipping for orders within India, and what’s really cool is that they even offer international shipping to a lot of countries! They, however, do not have a simple, no-questions-asked exchange/return policy, only allowing it if the wrong product is delivered or if it’s defected. Every shop owner on Indiebazaar has the flexibility to implement their own policies though, and there is a “ask the seller” button on each page where they can be directly contacted. I definitely recommend using this button to clear up any exchange/return queries you might have (or any other questions regarding the product!) before making a purchase.

They have around 200 artists and designers under their belt right now that sell a variety of products including bags, apparel, footwear, accessories, stationery, and home decor/furnishing items; but what has clearly stolen my heart is their jewelry section. The pieces are fashionable, yet super affordable with most ranging between Rs.100 to Rs.1000. Check below for  jewelry items that I am currently lusting after.
