Sometimes you just have to see it to believe it, and this is one of those things! Even though everyone’s been raving about bright, colorful blazers for a while now, I thought it just wasn’t for me. Outerwear is expensive, and I prefer to buy it in neutral colors so I can pair it with more things in my closet. I’m all about cost per wear, you see! But after looking at the impeccable way in which these blazers have been styled in the photos above, I’m getting tempted to bend the rules a little bit! Pairing a bright blazer with neutrals isn’t exactly rocket science, but what I really like here is the way two bright colors are paired in an unexpected way — model Heidi Mount wears a pink blazer with a fiery red button down and clutch in the DKNY Spring 2011 campaign, while Olivia Palermo pairs a peach blazer with mustard pumps. Pretty fabulous, huh?!
Besides bringing life to a basic jeans and tee outfit, a bright blazer is one of the easiest ways to play with color blocking this spring. I think I’m finally falling for them! What about you? Do you think they are worth spending on?
Until next time then, stay bright and cheerful!

Now we’re talking!!! Bright blazers are my biggest obsession…..unfortunately it is quite hard to find good quality ones from high street stores. I think I’ll save up for a wonderful red blazer. 🙂
Look forward to hearing from you

True!! The good ones are really expensive…I’m hoping there will be more options when it gets a little warmer!
Ooooh..pink and red sure looks quite nice!
I love the whole ensemble in the DKNY ad. I WANT!! Olivia’s color is also great. Like you I prefer to buy my outerwear in neutrals so that it can go with everything. Even though I love the jackets I am not sure I will buy them. For color, I go to cardigans..I know its a different style but its cheaper and I can get one in every color:-)
that’s a great idea too!!
