I remember wearing chunky block heels practically every single day throughout high school, which is why when stiletto heels came into the picture, I welcomed the change with open arms. And now for the very same reason, Iβm welcoming the comeback of block heels! Funny how things work in fashion, eh? π
Well, I have to admit I was hesitant when they showed up at the likes of Miu Miu and Prada in previous seasons (and, of course, seeing them on clogs didnβt help much either), but when block heels made an appearance on Louis Vuittonβs Fall 2010 show, I began warming up to them. And then any other bit of speculation died down when I first set my eyes on these highly coveted, absolutely rad booties, and the rest is history! π
For all you people who hate wedges, block heels are definitely a great alternative as they offer two of the key factors that wedges offer β comfort and height. They are also really easy to wear and look good paired with almost everything. Wear them with maxi skirts and socks while it’s still cold out, and of course during the summer the options are endless β from summery dresses, shorts, and rompers to cropped or flared/wide-leg pants.
With that, I leave you with a few cute and affordable block heel options below. I mostly picked sandals, because Iβm so ready for spring, but booties and pumps in a block heel are also a must-have!

In Numerical Order: Bebe block heel sandal, Jessica Simpson Dani, Jeffrey Campbell Foxy-Wood, Boutique 9 Quilo Pumps, Topshop Lark Dusty Pink Knotted Sandal, Nine West Stylin

I love the 2nd and 5th one <3
Lol and you know since back then flared jeans were in too…I used to wear it with them and people used to think I’m super tall cuz the heels wouldn’t show with the jeans…I think I wore flats once in high school and people were “WHOA…You SHRUNK!!” π
I love them π I β₯ Nina Ricci spring 2011 heel you’ve put here.. very colorful, very pretty …should sit pretty in every girl’s shoerack.. amen.
So buying the nine west shoe! I love heels – wedges, blog, platforms – bring it on!
I am a huge block heel fan, I find wedges a bit uncomfortable and I have a black satin one that I have worn so much for the last two years that poor thing has got holes all over the satin. π Needless to say I’m in the market for a new pair. π
Thanks for these wonderful options girl. π
Look forward to hearing from you
