The Nature’s co. bath & body products have been on my radar for quite some time now, especially these cute little lip balms that I just irrationally love even without trying. I’m still waiting to finish my old lip balms so I can purchase these beauties, but in the meantime, Nature’s co. graciously sent over their lily of the valley body lotion, recommending it for my sensitive skin.
I already had a good feeling about it, considering it’s natural and vegan, but this lotion surpassed all expectations. First up, it smells HEAVENLY. It’s a fresh, floral fragrance and it’s quite strong with great staying power. I have people ask me what I am wearing hours after I’ve applied it. The best part is that it doesn’t even irritate my skin. I usually stick to mildly scented lotions like Vaseline and Nivea for daily use and save the strong ones for special occasions, because they tend to sting and leave my skin feeling itchy, but this one gave me no such trouble.
I’m also suspicious of lotions with strong scents because they don’t moisturize very well. It almost seems like a trade-off of some kind, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that this lotion is actually good enough for regular use. Maybe it’s the olive oil in it that’s doing the magic, but my skin really seems to agree with it. The medium consistency is perfect for the summer since it spreads and absorbs quickly into the skin, without leaving your body feeling sweaty and sticky. I don’t even feel the need to apply it over and over again; just once a day is enough to keep the skin feeling soft and hydrated.
The only aspect where I feel that this product could use a little improvement is the packaging. The bottle is somewhat fragile and it’s a little bulky to carry around. The packaging is cute, however, and is also recyclable and biodegradable, so I am willing to let that part slide. The environment before anything else, people! Also, even though overall I think this product is superb (you can buy it online here and here), it would have been icing on the cake if it also came with SPF. Right now I have to apply a separate sunscreen on top of it, and I just hate having to lather so much lotion on in the summer. Let’s hope the people at The Nature’s co. are listening!
