Garnier Fructis GoodBye Damage Hair Care Range_splurgerinaGarnier Fructis Hair Care Range

One thing that I have realized from moving so often is that a hair product that works for you in one country does not necessarily work in an another. That being said, given Delhi’s extreme climate, I am still having a hard time finding a shampoo that flatters my hair type. The heat and the sweat make my hair fall flat within a day of washing and when it’s raining, my hair gets really puffy and frizzy. There is no in between, and I have realized that in Delhi, you have to keep multiple shampoos/conditioners depending on the weather during that time. On most days, I also insist on not using a blow dryer/flat iron and letting my hair be in its natural state, which means that I depend on a good shampoo and conditioner all the more.

I have been using the Garnier Fructis GoodBye Damage hair care range (courtesy of Garnier India) for a little over a month now, and instantly fell in love with the bright orange packaging and the lingering fruity smell of the products. The range consists of a shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, and serum (which I haven’t tried), and here’s what my experience has been so far:

Garnier Fructis GoodBye Damage Shampoo

This shampoo contains Amla and fruit vitamins/extracts that are supposed to help with the damage caused by sun, dust, and dirt. I think that this shampoo really helps with hair fall, and you can notice a difference in as little as two washes. I also feel that my hair is less greasy; I usually wash my hair every other day, but with this product, I can go without shampooing for at least a day longer.

Garnier Fructis GoodBye Damage Conditioner

The conditioner is also Amla-based and is creamy and easy to apply. I don’t have to deal with flyaways and tangled hair whenever I use it, which is great since those are major problem areas for me, but this is where the charm ends. My hair is thick and wavy and I highly depend on a good conditioner to tame it down and make it feel less heavy, but I had no such luck with this conditioner. It doesn’t leave a shine either, and my hair feels a little rough whenever I use it.

Garnier Fructis GoodBye Damage Hair Oil

This is my favorite product from this range, and I can definitely see myself buying it again and again. It is a blend of coconut, almond, and olive oil, is lightweight, and has a sweet fragrance that is perfect for the summer. What I liked about this product is that it nourishes my hair and absorbs quickly without feeling too sticky, and it doesn’t even leave a trace on my clothes and bed linen. Yes, I have napped after applying it on several occasions and my sheets and pillow cases were spotless! Also, unlike other oils, this one washes off quite easily. I usually have to shampoo twice whenever I apply hair oil, but this one comes off right away. My hair feels soft whenever I use it, although I do think it doesn’t leave my hair quite as shiny as when I use good old olive oil.

Final Thoughts

I definitely recommend the hair oil, especially during the summer when you don’t particularly want to use a product that feels heavy and sticky but still want to condition your hair. The shampoo and conditioner, however, are best suited for someone who is looking for something that gives their hair volume, controls oil production, and/or helps with hair fall. It works well as a daily use shampoo. If your utmost requirement from a shampoo and conditioner is smooth, soft, and super shiny hair, then this is probably not the best choice. Personally, I don’t use it when I have to wear my hair down, but I like using it when I know that I won’t have the time to wash my hair for the next 2-3 days. I usually wear my hair in a bun or a ponytail during those days, and this shampoo and conditioner keep it from getting oily, ensuring that my hair’s natural volume stays intact.

xoxo,

SK

I was desperate to find a shampoo that suited me. So I bought the Garnier Goodbye damage shampoo and conditioner. I loved it. I have thick dry curly hair. I used this Goodbye Damage shampoo and conditioner and my hair is the best it has ever been. It’s softer, more hydrated, more manageable. No frizz. No dry ends. I love this shampoo. I sometimes use it with a leave in straightner and I swear I have the best hair in ages. I wish you guys from Garnier would get the hair mask and the rest of the goodbye damage range available in australia.

Thanks for your comment Jas! And a great idea to try it with a leave in conditioner. I quite like the shampoo but the only problem I had with the conditioner is that my hair is thick and it made my hair look even puffier. Will try using it with a leave in conditioner now!

I have been using Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave in Conditioner for Frizzy, Dry Unmanageable Hair for the last three years. The last container of it I bought was in America 3 months ago.
I cannot find it anywhere in Adelaide to buy. Can you help me please.
    Thank you
