Buy Maybelline White Super Fresh Compact
Being a fan of Maybelline products, I was excited to try out their White Super Fresh Compact, which was recently launched in the market. I’m extremely particular about using moisturizer and sunscreen on a daily basis and have fairly decent skin, so I was very curious about how this product could further enhance my complexion.
The compact comes in a white circular box with a small mirror inside and an applicator. It has three different shades—Pearl, Shell, and Coral with Pearl being for the women with fair skin. The compact’s texture is quite soft and sheer, and it also has a very nice fragrance to it. The puff applicator is pretty decent for the overall price of the product, but you do need to be careful while applying the compact as the distribution is sometimes patchy and uneven.
Typically, compact powder is used over foundation, primer, or a concealer, but since I like to keep my skin relatively makeup free, I used it over my regular moisturizer (Cetaphil) and sunscreen (Sunban). I started with applying one layer over my face and ensured that there were no patches or uneven distribution. Then I decided to apply a second layer of the compact, which sort of did not work for me, giving my face a bit of a dry and ashy look. Clearly, one layer of the compact is enough, especially for women with dry to combination skin. It definitely feels very light on the face if applied in the right amount and gives a very smooth and silky finish to the skin.
TIP: Post application, use a round powder brush to properly spread the powder across
the face, especially around the jawline, until it sets in evenly; just a couple of strokes and you should be set.
Later, I decided to experiment a bit further and went on to use the compact with a BB cream. The results varied slightly and are barely visible on camera, but the tinge of foundation present in the BB cream helped to even out my skin tone and combined with the compact, it brought about a very healthy glow to my face.
The product promises a 12-hour coverage, but for me it only stayed on for about 5 to 6 hours before I had to touch up again. Having said that, the reason could also be because I only applied a light layer of the compact powder to give my face a more natural and sans makeup appearance to it.
#GirlOnTheGo: Several hours of shopping outdoors & the face still looks clean and sweat-free
The only main issue I had with this product is the name, which sort of drives away women like me who already are fair and don’t need “whitening” as such. I personally respect and adore all skin colors and stay away from such products so wish they had just called it “Super Fresh 12 hour Perfecting Compact” rather than adding the whole whitening term to it.
Overall, the product is a good bargain for young girls and women who do not require a lot of concealing on their skin and like to sport a fresh-faced look. It’s the ideal product to use everyday as it makes your face look flawless without feeling heavy or cakey, which is perfect for achieving that no-makeup makeup look. It is priced extremely well at INR 150 for 8 grams, which also makes it one of the most well-priced quality products in its category.
