About Me

I’m a diplobrat –the only constant in my 25 years of existence. That means that I’m used to moving to a new country every three years, trading everything old and familiar with the new and intimidating. Yeah, we diplobrats have serious identity crisis and no real sense of home (uhh…where am I from? Scratches head and looks baffled!) and our English is what I like to call a cocktail (it’s color today and colour tomorrow), but we are masters of camouflage and pretty much look like we belong anywhere and everywhere. Seriously, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been asked for directions in a country I just moved to!

My current home is the 20^th floor of a high-rise building in (hold your breath) New York City baby!! From where everything seems small and you’re on top of the world. And from this cozy little Manhattan apartment, I begin my stint with Splurgerina.

Splurgerina is a women’s lifestyle blog, covering anything that is worthy of indulgence, whether it’s chocolates, shoes, aromatherapy or even some healthy gossip. I feel that as women it’s our birth right to splurge. And why feel guilty about it? We women have to worry about a lot of things (think: PMS/menopause, the skinny paycheck, breast cancer, body image issues and the most complicated of them all—MEN) and at the end of the day we should be able to do whatever the hell we need to feel good. Damn right we do!

I know you’re thinking, “Aromatherapy? How random!” right? Well, as I said, this blog is really about all the random things in the world that interest a woman. And since random is the word of the day, here are 7 random tidbits about me:

I’m from India, born in Germany and have lived in 7 countries in 4 different continents so far. Africa and Australia watch out for me!
I’m only 5’2. But hey short people are cute, right? Right!
I can never have enough of shoes and lingerie.
I was born on June 10^th and share my birthday with Elizabeth Hurley, Princess Madeleine, Shane West and Faith Evans. Cool, eh?
I’m currently on a Facebook hiatus since November 2009. 8 months and going strong!
I’m totally obsessed with Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor and Sonam are my current favorites and SRK, you rock!
I barely use any makeup. Just a little Kohl, a little mascara, some lip gloss and I’m good to go.
